FASS
Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) was established in 1977 to provide a community-based, alcohol counselling service. FASS has expanded over the years to provide a range of services to meet the needs of vulnerable people within the community who are affected by alcohol-related problems, substance misuse and those who are socially isolated and vulnerable.
FASS has built up a reputation of being experts in their field, however, their identity no longer represented what the charity had become. The existing logo was old fashioned and clunky, their literature lacked any coherent design and the website was dated.
I was asked to design a new brand identity that was flexible and better represented what the charity had become. This took the form of reinterpreting their existing logo making it more friendly and modern. An ‘Umbrella’ brand was created along with devising an overarching strapline that encompasses their ethos ‘Supporting you one step at a time’. This allowed me to very neatly extend the branding across all current services with the flexibility to add further services in the future using a colour coded system.
A new colour palette, font and imagery were chosen for both digital and print materials resulting in a fresh, modern and flexible brand with a cohesive look and feel.
Since then I have worked closely with FASS to create a range of materiel including stationery, leaflets, posters, roll-up banners and annual reports.
In addition to this FASS now has a new website based on the new branding and developed with my web partners Fuzzy Lime.
